[Kenwood] Kenwood TS690/450 performance

Following an ebay deal that went bad, I am left
without a 6 meter rig. Not a good position to be in
if you are 6 meter addict like I am. So I have
arranged a deal to trade some HF equipment for a
Kenwood TS690SAT with cascaded 500hz filters tomorrow.
What kind of HF performance can I expect out of this
rig? Is it usable at all in a contest? I realize
that it isn't a 7800 or a FTDX9000 and don't expect
that kind of performance, but how do they perform? I
do wish it had a built in keyer, but it doesn't.
