Eddie,
One battery is in the Digital-A Unit, X54-1830-00.
The other battery(ies) are on the Switch Unit. There appears to be
two different Switch Units board types although I have come across
only one in servicing the few '940s that have crossed my bench.
Depending on the board number it can have one or two batteries. Here
is the information I have in my service notes.
Switch Unit (l), X41-1600-00, has two batteries, each connected to an isolating
diode. One is connected to D4 and the other is connected to D106.
The batteries are stacked one on top of the other. The negative tabs
are common and the positive tabs are slightly spread horizontally to
connect to the lands for their respective isolating diodes.
Switch Unit L, X412-1600-00, that has only one battery and it is
connected to D4.
I hope this helps and I would be interested to know what Switch Unit
board number you have and how many batteries are on it.
