As I recall, there were no changes necessary on the radio. With that said,
however, there is a menu setting to use the same DIN connector as a data
port for PSK, etc. So make sure that is not configured for that. I don't
have a manual in front of me, but I'm relatively sure they are available on
line to help you with the menu selections.
In answer to your question about the connector, yes, the one you describe is
the spot.

Thanks for the reply and idea.
I am quasi sure the laptop is using comm2 but I need to get a breakout tool
to confirm it. Comm 1 is used by the mouse pointer on the laptop so in this
case it is not an option.
Is there anything on the radio I need to set up to for example, put it into
computer control mode?
Can you confirm I am using the correct connector - seems like the only one
there is just to the left of where the display mounts on the radio case
itself.
