If you're using the 13 pin ACC2 input on the back of the rig, I think you
have to go into menu 50E and set that to "SUB" to get it to TX on the
sub-band. I think the rig assumes you are using an external TNC when you put
audio in through the ACC2 connector.
The TS-2000 is a pretty neat rig- I'm on my 3rd one. The ARCP-2000 software
allows you to design your own DSP equalization curves on both transmit and
RX and load them into the rig, so there's almost no need for outboard
processing equipment. If the TS2K had a slightly more robust front-end and
an HF enabled sub-receiver, it would easily be the coolest radio ever made.
Probably the most popular ever made, too.
