I am assuming there are no shorts external to the jack.. I had the same thing happen on my TS 570 D.. The jack is a very flimsy cheap affair, mine was shorting somehow, it was very difficult to gain access to the jack, I wiggled the jack a lot from the outside and the fault cleared, it will return if I am not carefull with the cord and move it too much where it enters the radio in the back... Not a very professional fix but it has worked that way for a long time on my radio. 73 VE1DS ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bert Morton" <hamradioguy at vermontel.net> To: <kenwood at mailman.qth.net> Cc: <Kenwood570 at yahoogroups.com>; <kenwoodradio at yahoogroups.com> Sent: Thursday, January 19, 2006 10:46 AM Subject: [Kenwood] Straight Key with a TS-570 > I am attempting to use a straight key with my TS-570. >> Per the instructions I plugged the key into the designated jack. >> When I do this I get a continous note and I am unable to key the rig. >> What am I missing here ? >> Thanks and 73, >> Bert W1DFU > ______________________________________________________________ > Kenwood mailing list > Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/kenwood > Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.html > Post: mailto:Kenwood at mailman.qth.net
