I don't have a 570D but I suspect there is rubber ring around the circumference of the knob. If you use a very thin, not sharp blade, and carefully pry the rubber ring off the knob, you'll probably see a set screw or screws. These will, in all likelihood, be metric Allen screws.

BTW John... it appears you are collecting a whole pile of radios again!!!!
I just picked up a used Kenwood TS570D that is working great except for the main tuning knob. It is loose and wobbly, and so it binds at times while I am turning it. I am trying to figure out how to get it off so I can tighten the encoder shaft, but haven't had any luck so far. Does anyone know how to get the tuning knob off?
