[Kenwood] TS-930S: Glass Diodes Glowing Red On Signal Unit

I was performing a voltage alignment on my TS-930S' signal unit last night
when I noticed what appeared to be a standard glass signal diode that was
glowing red. I found this most peculiar as I've never seen anything like it
before. The diode was not hot. I then noticed another one near the other
side of the signal unit that was also glowing red (also not hot). Since the
radio operates properly, I began thinking that this might just be an
attribute of certain diodes in certain applications.
I later found a post on UseNet that seemed to confirm my thoughts that
this can be an attribute of certain diodes in certain applications. Is
anyone familiar with this behavior in the TS-930S? The signal unit diodes in
question are #67 and #225, both of which are listed as type "LT8001P".
