Its simply due to the fact that people are willing to pay that much for it.
Same holds true for most matching accessories (speakers, power supplies,
etc.) - they always get 2 to 4 times (or more) what they're "technically"
worth because they match. I've got the same affliction - wanting to have
the matching accessories, so you've got to pay the market rate... (if you
don't buy it for that price, someone else will). I paid 175ドル for the SM-220
about 5 years ago, and then paid another 95ドル about a year later for the BS-8
module. I had already converted a cheap 20ドル hamfest special oscilloscope
into a monitor scope (it's really pretty easy to do), but the "affliction"
made me sell it and buy the SM-220. ;-) Go figure.
