[Kenwood] TS 520 Tune up problem

I have a Kenwood TS 520 which I have just tried to put back
into service after 10 years of storage. After about 90 minutes of
warm up it works great. However, during the first 90 minutes after 
turning it on, there is only an instantaneous deflection of the meter 
when metering both drive and plate current with key down. After 90
minutes the problem disappears and tune up can be completed 
afterwhich the rig works perfectly. Oddly, even though I cannot
get a key down sustained deflection of the meter for plate current
or drive when first turning on the rig, nevertheless I can operate
SSB mode with full output power. It seems likely to me that the
carrier board in the rig has a defective component although I've
never encountered a component that takes 90 minutes to warm
up. Would appreciate any advice or suggestions.
