[Kenwood] RF Damaged Radio

During field day, a fellow ham turned his transmitter on at full power on
the same band I was on , the radio I was using was on a 3 element beam
aimed right at the offending transmitters antenna. Since then the radio
doesn't work quite right.
The radio is a Kenwood TS-450 SAT, and the problem is that after one
transmits with the radio even at low power settings, the AGC on the radio
on switching back to receive mode is at maximum level. The radio is
therefore totally deaf for several seconds every time you transmit.
I suspect that a diode that is part of the TR switching in the radio is
damaged and leaking RF from the transmitter into the receiver.
I do have a schematic available, but before I start hunting for a blown
component, I wanted to know if there are other known issues with this radio
such as relays that get damaged or stuck easily..etc.
Any clues would be appreciated.
