Few years back had a freind who had a second-hand, well
used TS-520S. The rocker Power Switch started hanging up in
the "Off" position and would not budge. He took the bottom
cover off, and gave the power switch a few healthy shots of
WD-40. After couple of trys, the Power Switch went to "On".
The next day, however, after all the WD-40 had penetrated the
plastic insulating material, he hit the Power Switch and it went
up in smoke, I mean a real cloud of smoke and the smell of
burning plastic. I replaced it for him, but sure a lot of work as
the front panel had to come off along with all the knobs, and
the metal VFO dial skirt.
