Reminds me of a hilarious piece I read in an old 73 magazine -- it was
called "the honeymoon is over" ! It was about the ham who got married and
drove off on his honeymoon (of course he didn't seem to have noticed her
much sitting in the front seat! ). The guys starts playing Radio from the
time they get into the car, once they get to their "dream location" and all
through out the honeymoon!
Seriously, I think too many hams spend far to much time sitting in front of
the radio and neglect the family. We have heard a fair bit of wife bashing
here, but how many admit we can over do the Radio thing? "ham widow" is a
common term!
I am also a ham married to a ham who used to do CW at 30wpm without much
effort! A wonderful lady too, but my New Year's resolution would be to spend
less time with the radio and more with her and our 6 year old!
In lighter vein....
