My personal experience with the ProSet is this...my head feels "squeezed"
after a few hours of use during a contest. It was worse when I first bought
them, but after breaking them in (literally), they've grown to be tolerable.
I'm now on my 3rd set of replaceable ear cushions and can't think of a
better headset to use short of jerry-rigging something.
I believe Bob brought back the "light" headsets recently (with "walkman"
style headsets). The old model was BM-5 (single ear with boom) and I
believe there's also a BM-10 dual-ear with boom. They were discontinued
right before I bought my ProSet a few years back. If they're available
again, might be worth while to look into. Maybe it's time I visit Heil's
website again.
What I'd really like to see is a headset as comfortable as my Sennheiser
HD-580's and with a boom and HC-4/5 cartridge. The HD-580's are absolutely
the *most* comfortable audio (Hi-Fi) headsets I've ever worn and also the
best sounding (Hi-Fi) headsets I've ever owned.

Subject: [Kenwood] REPLY - - - headset for TS-850
I was amazed at the number of replies I received both on and off the
list to my question about headsets for the TS-850.
Bob Heil's stuff was the clear winner. So, I did some research and
have a couple more questions.
Re: the Heil ProSet and/or ProSet plus. What I am looking for is a
headset/boom mic to wear at my desk so I can talk on the radio while I
work on the computer.
The ProSet looks like it would not be comfortable to wear for hours on
end. the only thing I can relate that to is a set of high quality
Austrian stereo headphones I have. The sound they produce is
magnificent, but they are not comfortable to wear for long periods of
time.
I also thought that Bob Heil's boom mic products were of interest. Is
anyone one on the group using one of those and what do you think of it?
Thanks guys (and gals) for yoiur help.
