[Kenwood] TS-930S Erratic VFO (Encoder problem?)

	I have a second 930 (S/N 410-0398) besides the one I'm
selling that has worked great since 1984, but has now developed
an erratic VFO. The VFO sometimes freezes (no frequency change
even when turning the dial) or only tunes down in frequency even
if turning the dial up in frequency. This sounds like some sort of
encoder problem and I wonder if anyone has experienced the same?
I searched and found a post on CQ-Contest by N0SS last year but
that seems to be the only reference I can find.
	Has anyone experienced this and found a fix?
