So, Guillermo, you are saying that the Toshiba data sheet is wrong and if I
can find a pair of 2SC2509's they will work. OK I'll buy that.
BUT, the substitute that I used (because the 2SC2509 is obsolete and not
available) really does have the collector in the middle. Well I can tell
you by first-hand experience that the substitute does not work. Of course,
I don't know if there are any other problems.
I just ordered a pair of 2SC3133's from RF Parts. If they fix the problem I
will let you all know about it. In fact I think I will put together a web
page about the experience for the next poor sucker that tries to fix one of
these things.
