I have the Maldol tri-band for my F-6, but I don't frequently listen to HF
with the HT. The few times I have tried this, it seemed to show that the
duck performs better than the Maldol (which is definitely not the case on
144, 220 or 440). One thing I tried that was surprising - I wrapped the
phone line cord from a working telephone two or three turns around the duck,
and HF signals were greatly enhanced. You might try experimenting with
whatever is nearby when you're doing this.

I drive into a small city every morning, and along the way there are one or
two areas where IM is shown to be a *serious* issue for my F-6A. I have
found that activating the attenuator helps tremendously in reducing this
problem. Don't forget to try activating it when things get weird. :-)
