Hi John,
One more response for ya, hi
I bought a TL-922A several months ago and had the same thing happen to
me. I'm driving it with a TS-830S and have 220vac on it. I also posted
on this newsgroup about the low output and got similar responses.
I was about to buy a new set of 3-500Zs until someone suggested that I
check the ALC adjustment.
My suggestion is to crank that alc pot on the 922 (I forgot which way)
and watch
the output increase.. OR.... just pull the ALC cable from the 922 and
see what happens.. Your transceiver is probably throttling back your
922.. Then go from there with proper ALC adjustment.
My tubes are not near
100% but I easily get 800plus output on cw and 1200 plus output p.e.p.
on ssb.
Without the ALC line connected I can peak about 1800 out on ssb.
Hope this helps. Write me and let me know. 73, Les, WOJH
