Or most any electronics parts supplier like Mouser.
Try also Radio Shack ( do not buy their brand name stuff.. there is no real
subsititue that is as good), possibly music stores catering to electric
guitar folks, Parts Express, Antique Electronic Supply www.tubesandmore.com
and the list goes on.
While you are at it. get some Caig "Cailube MCL", meant for rotary and
sliding pots and controls. One tiny, repeat tiny, squirt of that stuff
will fix 90 percent of all toublesome volume controls. Period.
The ultimate metal to metal contact cleaner/preserver is Caig
Pro-Gold. Their product called "R5 Powerbooster" *appears to me* to be
just De-Oxit with a name that appeals to the automobile audio nuts and
folks who use a lot of batteries.
>(first spray the whole band switch with Deoxit 5)
Do not spray whole bandswitches in things such as SX-28's and SX-42/62
radios. Reports have been seen of the stuff causing arcs between contacts
that carry B+ voltages or swelling of the phenolic wafers causing
mechanical difficulties. Instead, apply JUST A BIT to the metal contacts
only. The less the better.
Caig's kit of very tiny (5 cc, I think) spray cans is ideal for those of us
who don't to a lot of maintenance. See thier web site for full
information. Remember, very small quatities of these products in just the
right place is all you need.
