[Kenwood] Compact "Kitchen Sink" Mobile Rig?

I can only offer this opinion. A couple of years ago, I was considering
getting rid of my TS-50 and getting an FT100 or a 706. I wasn't having a
problem with my TS-50. My thinking was to consolidate everything in one
rig.
I signed onto the Icom and Yaesu reflector and sent out a message that
included my thinking and asked for comments, pro or con. Almost
universally, the folks on the Icom and Yaesu reflectors told me that if I
had a TS-50 to keep it in lieu of the Yaesu or Icom. The comment was based
on the overall HF performance.
Granted, the TS-50 lacks DSP which is occasionally a nuisance, but a
ClearSpeech speaker cured that problem. In fact, the ClearSpeech works
better than the noise reduction and notch filter in my 870.
I then discovered that having HF, 2M, and 440 all in one rig was not what I
wanted. With my V7, I can listen to HF, 2M, and 440 simultaneously if I
want to.
Maybe Kenwood wasn't so dumb after all? Could be a case of "if it works,
don't fix it?"

Anyone have any theories on why Kenwood has yet to introduce a 706MkIIG
or 100D style rig? I mean, with the success those two rigs can claim,
you'd think Kenwood would provide a rig to match. Only one can hope, I
suppose.
