Hello to all of you,
A good friend (Hans PA0HOP) has a problem with his TS-530SP. This is what he
writes:
Since 18 years I am the only owner of a TS-530SP tranceiver. Until recently
never had any problem with the rig.
Recently an intermittend fault occured when I want to transmit on 24,5 Mc/s
only (receiving okay).
What is the matter?
1. in tune position there is no bias current at all
2. it is not possible to adjust the ALC level with the carrier potmeter
(ALC level keeps 0)
3. in cw mode and key-down I read approx. 30 40 Ma's current on the IP
meter and RF output is present accordingly
4. in cw mode and and NO key-down the meter shows approx. 10 Ma of
current
5. With item 3 and 4 there is no ALC reading at all
Remarks:
* HT voltage is 850 Volts (like always)
* Bandswitch seems to work properly; moving the bandswitch does not affect
anything
* Checked the connectors on the RF-unit (circuitboard X44-1360-0) and they
seem to fit perfect
* The fault occurs after changing band and from a cold start, so it is just
uncertain when it happens
Any idea what can be the case and how to solve this "problem"?
Many thanks in advance.
73, Hans Remeeus.
