Low impedance microphone to high impedance radio means low gain but fine
quality. You may be able to compensate for the low voltage that comes
with the low impedance by cranking the gain up. I know my TS-130 is also
50 K input but when the MC-50 is switched to low impedance there's
enough microphone circuit gain to make it work fine any, just takes
turning up the microphone gain a lot. Otherwise a preamp or an impedance
step up transformer can correct the voltage mismatch.
I'm sure Heil has an opinion on the topic also.
