I seem to get excessive noise, compared to others in my area.
Not of a variety that the noise blankers can touch, and it comes and goes.
Presently 9+ on 7.240 Mhz, making it impossible to follow the swap net.
And it seems to get worse higher in frequency.
Antenna is a slightly shortened 40 meter dipole, with a set of 20 meter
legs added, with a W2AU balun.
Have ruled out computer as main source, as well as lamps (we use a number
of fluorescent lamps to save energy and cut down heat).
Would like possible suggestions, including a possible preselector in the
rig.
I do not have a schematic for it, only the owners manual.
Don't want to spend a fortune, as it'd be easier to buy a better rig if I
had to spend too much.
The other thing I'd like, would be to get the fan to come on when
transmitting, rather than just when it gets really hot..
