First, before you go hammering on somnelthing like that, try a hair dryer. Often that simple heat will break the glue loose, and you wont damage the plastic etc. I would also take the whole shebang down to your local "Batteries R Us" type store. They often can replace almost any battery pack, and do it for a lot less money than radio stores do. I have had several different packs rebuilt by them, at a very cheap price.
