The TenTec 1210 expects 5 to 10 watts drive, not more, not much less. It can't hack 100 watts accidentally. The transverter output of the TS-830, I believe, is on the order of milliwatts. The TenTec 1210 might work at that power level if the attenuator is shorted and the transverter is wired for hard keying instead of being RF keyed. I was able to test my 1209 transverter with a signal generator that produces no more than 5 milliwatts by shorting the series resistor in the power attenuator of the transverter.
