[Dxbase] Dxbase Digest, Vol 162, Issue 2

I concur with Steve. Despite its age and crusty nature (sounds like many of
us), the program still works and satisfies most needs. But unfortunately
(like us) it can't last forever.
Neal purchased the source code/program many years ago, and despite repeated
representations of new releases and/or improvements, nothing has been done.
Not a complaint, just a fact. It would be wonderful if Neal could turn the
program over to knowledgeable programmers or make it open source so the
users could make additions.
How about it Neal? You're not going to do anything with it, so either prove
me wrong by Christmas or let others carry the torch.

As a long-time user and supported of DXBase, I?d really like to see it
survive, if not move forward in some form, myself. I like it, have enjoyed
using it, and have tremendously appreciated the help from some of its
supporters, especially Joe. I know there have been some fiery comments from
members of the community on this forum; like any open forum, some of that
should probably be expected, and doesn?t necessarily reflect the temperature
of all the members.
Let?s not let this be an entry to debate, I just wanted to voice my hope
that we could see DXBase advance in some fashion.
Best regards,
Steve K4WA

approach for DXBase as my desire to deal with some of the members of the
community had dropped dramatically and obviously their appreciation of me
had also.

trusted developers could contribute changes and control the situation. There
are several proprietary packages that cannot be passed around and likely
would need to be replaced. The charges of the program will be removed when I
can get this worked out (as well as the licensing).
