[Dxbase] "No Current Record" after Win10 auto-update

I thought my PC and DXBase were OK after a recent forced update (thanks 
Microsoft) from Windows 7 to Windows 10 while DXBase was running, but 
after the dust settled I cannot initialize tables. When I attempt to 
initialize the DXBase tables a "No Current Record" error message pops 
up, and after closing that window DXBase stalls with a short green bar 
in the Creating Statistics Tables window. I can close the Initialize 
Table Data window, and the logging window appears intact (I can see my 
recent QSOs). Attempting to display my DXCC statistics (Output, HF 
Numeric Statistics) results in that same "No Current Record" pop-up 
window followed by a blank listing (as if I have no QSOs at all) in the 
DXCC Statistics window.
How can I recover from this mess?
