[Dxbase] Compact database error

Well, I've finally run into a DXB error message that has me stumped. I am trying to use the DXBase Utility to Compact my mdb database file. I have exited from DXBase and made a backup copy, but when I attempt to run the compact utility I get the following error message.

Error creating temporary dbname
The last time I tried to compact the database my computer seemed to hang up for an extended period of time so I closed the utility app. When I tried to restart my log it refused to load so I restored the mdb file from my uncompacted backup file and everything seemed normal. Apparently the abort of the compact utility left behind a temporary database file somewhere on my system, Vista 32. How do I clear this up so I can again compact my database before uploading to Clublog and my Dropbox account?
