Many thanks to Earl N5ZM and John N8RF who both sent me the zip file
2007ZoneCheck.zip. I'm sure this is the package that they downloaded from
Joe's web site when he released them to the DXB community. I have extracted
the files from the zip folder and just ran a quick test with the
usazonechecker.exe. It discovered 167 errors in CQ zones and 102 errors in
ITU zones. Previous QSOs with many of these stations had the correct zones
because I had used the 2006 version of usazonechecker.exe to fix them prior
to upgrading to DXB2007. The stations with errors in their zone
designations came in because of contest imports since upgrading to 2007.
I will continue to experiment with the other utilities, but I'm sure these
are the ones Joe intended for 2007 users. I notice the zip folder contains
a file called allother.mdb. I'm not sure what this is, but am assuming it
may contain the correct zones for various spots in the world? I guess I
have to start a new data base and use that mdb file to find out for sure.
Again thanks to both Earl and John for sending me the correct package of
utilities needed for 2007. I appreciate your quick responses.
73,
Gary AL9A
