[Dxbase] DXBase Beyond 2007 Version

Hi Larry
I doubt you will see a DXBase booth at Dayton. A booth cost 550ドル this year
if memory serves correctly. A hotel room is 100ドル-200 a night, lets split the
difference and say 150ドル. Transportation is another 150ドル (flight plus
parking).
So three nights in a hotel, transportation and booth charges equal 1150ドル.
Now you know why there was only 1 Logging program with a booth at the show
this year (and I bet money he isnt there next year). Assuming I offer no
discount (which isn't very safe assumption), I would have to sell 23 new
licenses to break even (not even counting for my time).
I have always said that I didn't take DXB over to get rich but I surely
didn't take it over to lose a lot either. Just the cost of establishing the
programming environment for the 1.09 release was more than the entire
revenue I have made on sales. Again, I love doing it and its not an issue
for me, but throwing another grand at it with little residual income to
offset it isn't very wise.
If I go next year, it will be (again) to work at the Flex Radio booth where
my real income is derived. I was (and always will be) very happy to meet so
many DXB users there this year. If I go next year I will post it on the
reflectors so you can come by and chat, DXBase was actively being demo'ed at
the Flex booth as I set up the "Dream Station" exhibit and of course what
Dream Station is complete without DXB??
