[Dxbase] [dxbase] VK9 callsigns and your DXbase prefix database- Joe wa6axe

Why are we having this discussion? The fix is easy on an individual call
basis and there is no logic in the Australian system...just as there is no
longer any logic in the US callsign system.

Jim,
No -- there are NO CHANGES to be made to the Refdata -- with this change in
Nov 2009 for the VK9 entities -- the DXbase user simply pays attention to
the CURRENT VK9 operation(s) and makes any MAPPING changes "as needed" ..
This is the same situation as ANY entity that uses an AMBIGUOUS prefix --
such as the TO and TX prefixes ... with those prefixes there are MANY
entities that the callsign could be used at -- and in those cases the
dxbase user simply changes the Prefix column in the logbook and answers YES
when the pop-up window asks if they want the callsign MAPPED -- when the
user answers YES -- the callsign is placed into the CALL MAP table (in your
refdata.mdb file) -- mapped to the Entity that you changed it to ...
It is really that simple ...
