[Dxbase] 64 bit windows problems (and Win7 anyway)

So, there are a number of issues with Vista and Win7.
First, if you are using Win7, either 32 or 64 bit, I'd advise browsing to
the DXBase exe file, choosing 'properties' on the right-click menu, and
putting it into 'XP compatibility mode'. This is likely to help.
Keep in mind that neither Vista nor Win7 want you to write into the Program
Files dir, or any subdir of it. DXBase 2007 is old enough that it keeps its
ini file and databases in its dir in Program Files. So there are a world of
issues that await you! So much easier if you were able to keep it on
WinXP...
Microsoft has published any number of Knowledgebase articles about this.
It's all related to their 'UAC' (User Account Control) concept, which means
you aren't 'administrator' anymore, even if you are.
Try searching for 'Inside Windows Vista User Account Control', by Mark
Russinovich, for a discussion of what has changed from XP.
