Indeed this is a work-around but that's what it is; a work-around.

||Let's say you get an alarm for a needed spot. You work that station on
|that mode/band combination you can right-click the spot in DX INFO and
|say ADD TO EXCLUDE LIST.
|What that does is exclude that callsign on the spotted band and mode
|from tripping any further alarms. In the "Internet Cluster" window an
|excluded spot will have an E appear in the QSY column letting you know
|that the spot has been excluded. You can go through the excluded calls
|list (DX INFO window, right-click, VIEW EXCLUDE LIST) and just delete
