[Dxbase] Win 7 Issue: UAC

Try this in Win 7. Create a shortcut on the desktop for the problematic
program. Right click on the shortcut and click on Properties. On the screen
that comes up, click on the Shortcut tab if it is not already selected. On
the Shortcut tab, click on the Advanced button. Check the "Run as
administrator" box, OK, and OK. Now the program should open without invoking
UAC.

Hi, Peter!
Appreciate your input.
I'm aware of the setting you mention, and it does eliminate the dimming.
But wouldn't it be nice if the (trusted) program simply opened in the
expected manner?
Fortunately, I suppose, so far I have encountered only two programs that
bring up UAC: DX Monitor and Acronis - two programs that I use infrequently.
Are you (or is anybody) aware of a solution that keeps UAC activated but
eliminates all UAC notifications when trusted programs are used?
With thanks and 73,
Al, K6RIM
