[Dxbase] Odd Display Problems with Log Window

Jack and Gang,
This past summer and again last week, I upgraded my station computer and
reinstalled DXBase. I won't get into why I upgraded twice, but keep in mind
the following problem showed up on both new computers using two different
video cards. I also updated my monitor and increased the resolution 1280 x
1024 in size and, I do not, and never have run DXB full screen. For DXBase
2007, I reinstalled the program and copied over my custom files along with
the log book.
Here is the first problem, now when I start DXB - just before the splash
screen ends, the entire DXB window below the top grab bar goes white. As
soon as the splash screen goes off the DXB screens recover except for the
File - Edit - etc menu bar. This bar remains white until I run my mouse
cursor over the now white buttons to recover them or minimize on expand
DXbase or switch to another program. This does not hinder the operation of
DXBase, it just looks weird.
Next problem also relegated to above. I mention I do not run full screen and
now if I grab the edges of the main DXB screen, the log window goes white
until I stop moving my mouse. There is no change in any of the windows if I
simply move the main window.
Also related to this odd behaviour with the main log window. I Expand the
log window to the full size of the DXB main window and drag an edge, the
entire log goes white. I can recover by minimizing and restoring.
The facts are this. I have seen the same problem with two video cards, an
SiS chipset and ATI Radeon 128 meg AGP card, both cards have the latest
drivers. No other program on the computer has any video problem and I do
mean none. I can have no other programs running and still have the problem.
The previous computer was a P3/800 with no video issues, this computer is a
p4/2.4 both are running with 1 GB of RAM. The operating system is XP pro
with all hardware and software updates.
I honestly don't think it is hardware/driver related, I suspect it is a
simple option or setting I have overlook either in the OS or in DXBase. At
the end of this e-mail I have tagged some of the files I copied back into my
DXB directory.
Please anyone!
