In follow-up to my earlier email about the exe program I
am working on for the WAE Award.. The requirements for
use of the program are going to be:
(1) Using DXbase2007
(2) Have a version of Microsoft EXCEL program that you can
write to .. not just a "viewer" ..
(3) You have updated your DXbase2007 Refdata.mdb file and
also your own LOGBOOK mdb file to the newest PREFIX for
4O and E7 ...
(4) You have a working knowledge of how to use and move
around in the EXCEL program.
NOTE!! The exe program I am making is NOT a one button
push and you are done - type of program .. My program will
create a TEXT type of file ( *.txt ) - which will be a
"Comma Delimited TXT file" .. You will, on your own, then
OPEN "that txt file" into your EXCEL program and continue
the process of making the temporary xls file and then
copy/paste that temporary xls file's contents into the
XLS file downloaded from the DARC WAE Award website.
A "Sample" screen-capture of OZ4RT's QSOs (CARD confirmations
only) that were imported into the final XLS file is shown at:
http://www.navycthistory.com/wa6axe/WAEsample01.gif
Note: The DARC WAE website lists TWO varieties of EXCEL
(xls) files ...
One is the actual "Application" xls file - which is
http://www.darc.de/referate/dx/forms/waeappe.xls
The Second one is a WAE TROPHY Award "Tracking"
worksheet ...
http://www.darc.de/referate/dx/forms/waetchke.xls
I am right now in the finishing stages on the
"Application" xls file .. and, do intend to also
program for that "Tracking" xls file ...
The LINK for the WAE website is:
http://www.darc.de/referate/dx/feddw.htm
select from the LINKS on the left of the screen...
