Dxbase can set splits on Icom radios too, It just can't read split from
the radio
N4PY's software gets around this limitation IF you control your radio
via software. if you use the front panel to drive the radio N4PY will
not detect split either.
I really do wish radio manufacturers would stop thinking of software
control as being somewhat of an afterthought and start getting thing
right for a change.
Is there any 'danger' that various software designers could agree and
publish a set of recommendations and perhaps even a protocol definition
for manufacturers to use
