The issue is not just an updated country file as Jim AD1C keeps the CTY.DAT
used in Contest Loggers very current. What we have in our need is the
database that follows the changes storing all changes and dates the changes
to DXCC entities came into effect. For instances, Montenegro contacts
before they separated from Serbia and became a separate DXCC entity, do not
count for the new Montenegro DXCC entity. A Country file only would not
have that info. The database that the DXB uses is one of the major items
that sets DXB apart from other loggers.
What is needed is some form of a Patch that would patch the Access
refdata.mdb database. However this is probably a major challenge and may
not be an easy fix.
At minimum we need a well vetted step-by-step process for the change/s. I
am very hesitant to make changes until they have been blessed by Jack, Joe
WA6AXE or someone else very close to DXB who are aware of all items that
need to be changed to assure the integrity of the DXCC entities and dates
they came or went.
Trust the above make sense?
