Port page shows the freq as noted on the Ft 1kd. Com ports agree which is
3. And the stop bits is 2. Guess I'll need to talk to someone at MicroHam.

I use it here.
Take a look at the mHK ports page
at the top the rig and frequency/mode should be displayed.
If not then your not communicating properly.

(name the movie)
Whatever port is entered into the Control field should equal the port 
selected in the rig window of the DXB setup window.
You didn't say what rig.....
the common gotcha if your using a Yaesu is the 2 (two) stop bits issue.
