One idea... If you have a classic type of generic CI-V, like this one,

Then the CTS and RTS lines are connected to create PTT action. Are your CTS
and RTS cleared and DTR set to power the interface?

Thanks for the tips. I tried a lot of it and still no luck! I'm not sure
what you mean by using terminal mode to be sure it send string to the com
port? Could you explain that a bit?
I know this works since I had it working before. I just don't understand
what I'm missing in the setup since I had to reinstall DxBase.
I am not using a CI-V. INstead I have a device in the cable that does the
same thing. As I said, it did work before!
