That is NOT normal. I am running DXBase 2007 on a Pentium 4, 1GB memory. I am running rig control and Flying Horse callbook. Mine is almost instantaneous. It seems there have been times when it was slow but not on a regular basis. I only have 10,064 records. Are you running a callbook? If so is the data on CD or on your hard drive. Having the data on your hard drive makes the look-up 10 times or more faster. 73 de Tony, KD4K My Radio web site http://home.adelphia.net/~tonycash/kd4k/radio.html My Weather Web Site http://home.adelphia.net/~tonycash Sawnee Mountain Repeater Web Site http://www.sawneemtn.org/ -----Original Message----- From: dxbase-bounces+tonycash=adelphia.net at mailman.qth.net [mailto:dxbase-bounces+tonycash=adelphia.net at mailman.qth.net] On Behalf Of Art Holmes Sent: Monday, November 20, 2006 3:52 PM To: dxbase at mailman.qth.net Subject: [Dxbase] record load time When I type a call into my log and hit enter it takes 4 seconds to complete. I am using dxbase 2007 and the file size is 49,750 records. Results were similar with 2005, and 2006 releases. Is this what I should expect or any ideas on improving the time.?
