[Dxbase] version differences

Hi Ron,
I don't think we would ever consider creating a .txt file for users to edit.
The liklihood that somebody would mistype something is so great and the
potential harm so high, that it's just not reasonable. But, we would be
willing to adjust our enhancement priority work and shift gears toward
working on an addition to DXB Utility that would allow someone to download a
refdata.mdb from someone else and have their own prefix related tables
replaced by what was contained in the downloaded version.
Now I do NOT want to cover up the reflector with more "me too" posts etc....
but I do need to have a feel for how many folks might consider upgrading to
2007 if we went to the trouble to do this kind of thing. Obviously, we need
to understand the majority opinion and importance before we redirect our
programming efforts. We've been very hard at work on development for
version 2007 and had some things underway, but if the majority of our
customers want this prefix import capability and there are volunteers who
will maintain a master on their website, then we are willing to modify our
direction. We'd like a simple direct email to our own email address, not
the reflector to tell us the answer to the following question:
Would the ability to overwrite your own Primary and Alias prefix table with
those that you obtained from someone else be a feature important enough for
you to consider upgrading to the next version?.
Thanks,
Jack
