[Dxbase] database problems

I maintain DxBase 2006 on 2 computers, they are both current. All records are the same on both. My problem is this I messed up my prefixes on one computer (by adding yu6 as yu) now I can't get the prefix data base to initialize corretly. No problem i'll just copy my backup database (k4em) from my backup computer to this computer. Which I have done at 30 times over the years and never had a problem.
The issue is this; the k4em.mdb database file on one computer is 78mb and the other one (that is working fine) is only 22mb. Again all qso records are the same; in fact I reloaded dxbase 2006 on this computer about one month ago and simply copied my backup k4em.mdb file (22mb) to the new dxbase program I just installed and everything is working. Or was until I messed up the yu prefix.
I looked back at some backup databases on a cdrom and they are all around 20mb or so which seems to match one computer.
Both computers run WinXP pro. Again both programs (except for the messed up databse) are EXACTLY the same; meaning both are configured the same. One version does not have any different setups, configurations or anything that is different between the two.
Any ideas?
