[Dxbase] SteppIR Problem with Orion

Jim, being a user of DXBase since version 2000 & buying each update every
single year the radio control is the only issue I have had during the past 7
years. A few new rigs I have purchased during that time frame did work just
right; However I was able to make changes in the Radios.ini file and get
them to work fine except this one little issue on an Orion & Orion II.
Both the radio & SteppIR band switch together exceptionally well with all
other programs I have here except DXBase.
In fact I like the rig so much I have been thinking about not purchasing
DXBase 2007 when it comes out & just going with another logging program, in
fact I have (3) freebee programs here that switch both the rig & SteppIR
with no problems, then again I love the overall look, layout and features of
DXBase.

Thanks to all the suggestions. Jim - that's it. I am using DXBase 2006 also
and I just tried the second click which did switch the SteppIR Controller. I
failed to mention DXBase before. Boy this is not good is it? The two just do
not play well together. I could not get it to track the Orion II at all
before, but the second click did work for me most of the time. Thanks very
much for your insights.

Now the only program that I have trouble with is DXBase 2006 when clicking a
dx station on the cluster DXBase band switches the radio but not the Steppir
Control until you click it a 2nd time. It's always one behind switching the
steppir..switches the rig to the proper frequency every time.

You have to change bands with a radio control program verses the front panel
on the Orion, assuming you have the Y cable configured correctly. Programs
such as N4PY, Commander, and Ham Radio Deluxe etc. work fine. Now the only
program that I have trouble with is DXBase 2006 when clicking a dx station
on the cluster DXBase band switches the radio but not the Steppir Control
until you click it a 2nd time. It's always one behind switching the
steppir..switches the rig to the proper frequency every time.

Subject: [SteppIR] Orion II and SteppIR Controller Interface Tracking
This past weekend I installed my new BiggIR Vertical, but for the life of me
I can not get the controller to track my Orion II. Using the WYE cable, with
ORION and 57800 baud selected in the transceiver set-up menu and in general
freq mode - nothing. Has anyone had success getting the SteppIR Controller
to track the Orion II or am I just missing something very obvious - which is
probably the case? Thank you.
