Boy this REALLY stinks that I can't get anything from either radio on three different COM
ports into DXBase. The fact that it works for others and it that used to work for me is
not the issue. The issue is it doesn't work NOW.

Bob, this is not common, I've rarely heard of people having trouble across the board like
this.
I'm suspecting that your comports are not set correctly or have been 'tweaked' out of
adjustment.
>From Control Panel>System Properties>Hardware>Device Manager, try this.
In View, make sure 'Show Hidden devices' is enabled.
Then go to Ports
compare them to the port assignments you selected.
If you see nothing suspicious here go to the next step which is:
Right Click and Uninstall each and all ports.
Then reboot.
During the Reboot Windows find the 'new hardware' and reinstall the ports with default
settings.
If I remember correctly, you have one Kenwood and one Yaesu that you are trying to
connect.
I can't remember the Kenwood details but I know that Yaesu requires 2 (two) stop bits.
It's there in the manual, but sort of hidden and has stymied many an installer.
Good luck, hope this works.
I've used MANY onboard and outboard com port devices with my rigs, rotors, and tnc's.
Com Ports are easy, but one tiny gotcha can be difficult to find.
