Ron et al,
This topic does get a very detailed and needs examples like yours to
resolve questions. I am also preparing a complex submission (cards and
LoTW) with DXBase 2006.
Regarding your last question about the actual DXCC credit process, yes, the
20 phone selection would make a 40 phone selection unneeded for phone. And
the 40 cw selection would have rendered the 40 phone selection unneeded for
the 40m band. The same logic applies to ignoring the 30m RTTY if 30m cw
had been selected for the 30m band etc.
In past DXBase versions, I have had occasional problems with RTTY selection
when I tried these large "global" lists. I am presently examining whether
this is an issue with DXBase 2006. I previously did what Fred outlined in
his post the just ran a separate RTTY list which always surfaced the
"missing" cards.
Jack & Co. did work on the DXCC award logic as part of DXBase 2006 and it
might be possible that my prior experience with RTTY (as well as Fred,
K1ACL) may have been resolved in with the 2006 release. I don't know yet.
But your observation on the selection for the global process
