Hi Folks,
OK, here is the story:
The firmware for the Winkey has contained an error since its first
introduction a few years ago. No one at Winkey knew about it and it did not
cause any problem until they revised their firmware beginning with their
version 9. A few weeks ago, they made a change in their v10 firmware that
eliminated the trouble, but for those who have the original v9 and v10
firmware before they made the most recent change, you will experience
trouble making the interface with DXbase work and in most cases the
interface would simply lock up.
We have made a patch for DXbase v2006 that will eliminate the trouble for
those who have the original firmware in their Winkey. This would solve the
trouble without any need to obtain a firmware update in your Winkey. This
is the easiest and preferred solution. If you need the patch, drop us a
direct email and we will email the patch. We will be updating our web with
the patch but it will take some time for us to accomplish that.
For those who have an earlier version of DXbase and experiencing a problem
with Winkey not working at all, you'll need to upgrade to DXbase 2006 and
this would allow you to take advantage of the DXbase 2006 patch. Otherwise,
you would need to refer your issue to the Winkey folks.
Regards,
Jack
