[Dxbase] DxB Import

When you purchased the upgrade, you were asked for all the callsigns you wanted in the
log.
These callsigns are in the .reg file that you are given or emailed.
When you run this .reg file, it tells DXB that any of these callsigns is acceptable in the
Op column.
It will import any that were in the previous log.
But... if you tried to enter a qso, and put a callsign other than one registered to you,
it would not be accepted.
This is the only copy protection that DXBase has.
If you change/upgrade a callsign, you can ask for a new .reg file which includes all
previous and the new callsign.
In the import module, you can only import logs using one of the callsigns in that .reg
file.
If you tried to enter your Novice log, which was a different callsign, it would not be
accepted.
This is also important to remember with regards to LoTW.
Each callsign you had/have, must have it's own certificate, and be uploaded separately.
Even though all my personal callsigns are linked to my present call for DXCC purposes.
WN9VOL is not the same call as W9OL and consequently would not be a match for qsling
purposes.
So in your log now, you can have multiple operator calls. This makes it easy to make the
file to upload to LoTW, Use the Wizard to search on each operator call and save it
separately and then upload each to LoTW.
Hope that wasn't more than you wanted to know and helps explain.

I entered K1EP, but was hesitant because my log contains operator call entries such as
K1EP/M. The database imported correctly, preserving the operator callsign of all the
QSOs. What is the use of the operator callsign field in the import program?
