I would probably make a bit more sense and have fewer typos if I had been
drinking a soda instead of a beer. I apologize for the extra word and
punctuation.

Bill,
Is DXbase 2005 on computer 1 is connecting to AR User at 127.0.0.1:7300?
I don't know if it will work, but have you tried to connect from DXbase 2004
using 192.168.1.100:7300 if DXbase 2005 isn't connected? to AR User?
As far an loading the node with a second connect, the reality is it won't
ever be noticeable. To ease a guilty conscience, though, you could make the
second connection to a different node.
Why do you want to connect the second computer running 2004 if you have it
only for logs of stations that you manage?

I run ARU on computer 1. (192.168.1.100)
DXB2005 on computer 1 connects to ARU via the local host option.
I have DXB2004 still on computer 2 (192.168.1.101)
(it's got the logs for the stations I manage and will be upgrading when I
get the time)
I would like the 04 to also access ARU via the Home LAN.
I know I can just make a connection to the node directly but that puts more
load on the
node. I may end up having to do it that way, but...this is also a learning
experience.
Both computers are in the same workgroup and can be pinged in both
direction.
In fact, if I open the little windows app. HyperTerminal and enter computer
1's ip, it
also quickly connects to ARU and the node it's connected to.
So I know two computers can connect to the same node via the software on one
of the
computers.
I'm almost there.
But I can't make DXB2004 work with it's resident Telnet program.
I've tried all sorts of IP's and port combo's.
192.168.1.100:7300 #Barton
192.168.1.100:7300
192.168.1.100
Way back when, I remembered something about not using the # or putting a
space between
them etc.
Any body got a clue? Or remember/think of something I missing?
