First, THANKS to the many people who offered suggestions and help in dealing
with this problem. Brendan, EI6IZ, was the most persistant in attacking the
problem, and got me going in the right direction after considerable dialogue.
To recap the problem: I run an Icom 756Pro (not Pro II) with Win XP Pro, P4
desk top with lots of RAM. When I upgraded from DXB 2003 to DXB 2004, I lost
the ability to log the freq or retreive the VFO freq via the logging program.
My old versions (2001 and 2003) both continued to work, as did a C IV
Commander program.
Upon Brendan's suggestion, I went into the "radios.ini" file in Dxb 2004 and
changed the "Pacing" setting from 5 to 10. Nothing else was done. The
program now logs correctly, and the "Retreive Freq." function works perfectly.
The Puzzle: I checked Dxb 2001, which works perfectly; the pacing value
there is 8 (never modified by me). In Dxb 2003, which also worked/works
perfectly, the value is 5, the same as the value in v.2004 as shipped! So, a pacing of
5 works in v.2003, but NOT in v.2004.
Again, my sincere thanks to all the folks who took the time to help.
