Hi Sam,
IMO more important that the "radios.ini" file when
it comes to connectivity is the "Dxbase2004.ini"
in the Windows directory. You may have missed
something in the Tools/Options/UserOptions/Radio1
settings. Here is the [Radio] section in mine:
[Radio]
BAUD=4800
STOPBITS=2
PORT=1
CONNECT=1
FILTER=0
RTTY=0
PARITY=NONE
WORD=8
DEFAULT=1
RADIO=Yaesu_FT1000MP
HFDTR=1
FILEPATH=C:\Amateur Radio\Pegasus\
FILETYPE=0
HFRTS=1
Make sure this section of the file is exactly the
same as the "Dxbase2003.ini". If not paste in the
"Dxbase2003.ini" [Radio] part into the [Radio]
part of the "Dxbase2004.ini". Don't want to copy
and paste? At least compare the two and look for
any differences.
Good Luck es 73,
Art

Subject: [DXBase] Prob Logging Freq w/Dxbase and
Icom 756Pro HELP!
Sci. Solutions has not been able to help. They
suggested the reflector.
Here is the problem:
I recently upgraded from Dxbase 2003 to the 2004
version (via a CD shipped to
me). I have been using v.2003 with my Icom 756Pro
for over 18 months with no
problems. I run Win XP Pro. As soon as I
installed and used v.2004, I found
that I COULD NOT log the frequency from the
transceiver. I get a hash number
(316416.56) for the freq., and "75G" in the "Band"
column every time,
regardless of the actual settings. I COULD QSY
and change mode from within the 2004
program, and with other control software that I
own.
I checked the program settings for the IC 756 Pro
and they are correct –
identical to those used in my v. 2003. I then ran
Dxbase 2003, which I retained
on my hard drive, and found that it WORKED
PERFECTLY (as before) and logged
freq. and band correctly.
Upon Jim's suggestion, I chnaged the name of the
radios.ini in v.2004 and
pasted in the radios.ini from v2003, which works
perfectly. No change!
Given the above, I know that a) my transceiver
works and communicates
properly; and b) that nothing is wrong with my
computer and interface cable.
Any one else out there with a 756Pro having (or
not having) this prob?
Help, PLS.
